Shandong’s Excavator Industry Takes The Lead: Integrated Industrial Chain & Smart Manufacturing Go Global

Shandong is a major production base for construction machinery in China, with more than 300 above-scale enterprises. It has formed an industrial layout centered on Jining and Linyi, with coordinated development in Jinan, Weihai and Liaocheng. The local supporting rate in core areas exceeds 80%, realizing efficient collaboration in R&D, production and logistics.
The industry is actively upgrading to intelligent manufacturing and has achieved independent R&D of core technologies. New energy and intelligent excavators have become major highlights. A full range of products, including large mining excavators and mini excavators, cover diverse working scenarios and win wide recognition overseas.
Driven by the Belt and Road Initiative, export business maintains strong growth. In 2025, the export volume of Shandong's construction machinery rose by 32.7% year on year, with over 65% of shipments going to countries along the routes. A host of enterprises have secured large overseas orders.
